DIsplay Resolution problem for XP home edition?

I a moment ago installed xp home on the computer but the monitor resolution is at 640 by 480 what can I do to fix it.I went to control panel and it won't consent to me change it to anything else. I tried installing this monitors driver but nil changed. Any ideas?

Right click on My Computer > Properties > Hardware Tab > Device Manager and check for the Yellow Question or Yellow Exclaimation marks...is it your Video Card? If yes next install the drivers.



To get more info around the driver updates, mention the Graphic card name and the model number.

What about video card drivers.Have you install them.
yeah, your problem is the video graphics card drivers. install them on the compact disc that came beside your video card. if you got your computer close to dell. it should have come on a disk labled: Drivers.

Yes, my friend. It's markedly video (graphic) drivers that need installing.
Right click the desktop, choose properties, choose settings, move the slider to the resolution you want, choose apply, choose Yes.
