Dell sleep/standby mode?

I own a Dell Inspiron E1505. I enjoy the screen set to turn sour after about 10 minutes of no use. The eyeshade also turns off when I fold it down. The problem is, when I return to the laptop and unfold it back up, frequent times the screen won't turn support on. This doesn't happen every time but I just this minute bought a cooling pad and it seem to be even worse now. So I enjoy two questions: does anyone know why the blind won't turn on sometimes/how to make it turn on and is in attendance a reason the complement of a cooling pad (usb) would affect the laptop's flair to work properly (it seems to affect other functions - tv tuner, initial startup, etc.)? Thank you for the sustain.

Answer:

does unpluing the cooling pad acctually affect it, most pad just suck power from the port, no notes is transmitted ( I could be wrong if it is controled by software)

but I did read an article on dells website almost this
