dell notebook monitor displays no signal solitary?

Answer:

Sounds approaching a bad card.My direction is to replace the card.If you have a second computer try to hook the monitor up.If it does one and the same the monitor is shot but if it works ,your card in the other is impossible.
usually no signal means that the monitor is not recieving any information from the computer. So something's wrong within the connection (computer's stale, cable's broken, video's busted in computer)

try it beside a computer that you know works with other monitors to see which segment is broken
1. check if things has be pluggin properly... VGA or DVI cable

2. check if the monitor is on (with the yellow desk light on at the bottom right of your monitor)

usually if its not plugged properly, your screen will show a "no signal" message, you would have need of to confirm if your CPU has be setuped properly. Two things go wrong most regularly:

1. the cable to send signal from CPU to monitor - vga, dvi

2. your pictographic card mite be dead.
