Dell Monitor Started Popping and the picture disappeared?

My monitor (flat eyeshade old academy CRT) starts literally popping and the image shrank to nil in the center of the eyeshade.

The popping would also occurr when the computer itself was rotten and the monitor was cold, as powerfully.

Now nothing displays.

Any thoughts, friends? I'd be much obidged. Thanks.

Answer:

Conventional CRTs are approaching conventional TV picture tubes and have a large voltage power supply in them to buoyant up the screen. It sounds close to your high voltage supply burned out. If so, it's probably not worth fixing since unmarked CRT displays are so cheap nowadays.
Time for a up to date monitor.
well your monitor sounds shot. the best item you can do is to take it into a computer shop, but they are more than potential going to tell you to take a new one. if you enjoy a warranty on it, use that. good luck!
I believe you were tremendously clever to type so accurately while your screen be blank.

Maybe its your vision.
Sounds close to the monitor is toast. The popping noises be probably sparks when the boards or electronics in the monitor shorted out. I suppose it could be repaired, but it would be deeply cheaper to just buy a untried one.
Your high voltage screened-off area has inferior! Best thing to do presently is invest in a LCD monitor. Not singular will it save space,it will collect a ton of energy and thereby support slow pollution. ;-)=
