What type of graphics card do you hold? Try to uninstall the display adapter then reinstall it. This should transport care of your problem, but the monitor is not the issue here no thing what. The 4 bit comes from the display adapter and that has to be properly installed up to that time your monitor can show the true color.. Hopefully the display adapter is okay------ which I am sure that it is---
