I purely reformatted my friends Dell Computer. Now when I boot up, it boots up in the lowest resolution. I can not adjust this. When I got to display, advanced, the button for properties is grayed out. It also say default monitor, so I assume that the driver for this particular monitor be not on the install cd. I downloaded the drive for this monitor e772c but I don't know where to put it contained by the computer. And because the properties button is grayed out, I can't install from there. I also do not see monitor nominated at all below Device manager, so I can't install from in that. Any ideas would be appreaciated.
thankfulness in credit for your help
Answer:
U WILL NOT FIND THE NAME OF THE MONITOR IN THE DRIVE MANAGER,U WILL ONLY FIND PLUG AND PLAY MONITOR UNDER MONITORS.THE NAME WILL BE SHOWN FOR HARDWARES THAT NEEDS INSTALLATION FROM THE compact disc OR SELF INSTALLED LIKE DVD/CD ROM DRIVES.
if u didnt fiind this, try the 'add new hardware" contained by the control panel then u should survey for the hardware connected to the PC but not installed, but i think that adjectives monitors don't need installation so it is almost the video card.survey for the display adapters in the device director and if there is a "yellow !" spot or "yellow ?" mark beside the entitle of the video card then it is not correctly installed. adjectives what u need is to insert the disc and the installation wizard will launch automatically.then verbs installation.
HOPE THIS WORKS
I think you are past its sell-by date by just a bit - it sounds not resembling the monitor driver but rather the video adapter driver...
I am guessing that one of the generic Windows dirvers is installed - VGA or SVGA.
Try to track down the most modern driver for the correct video card.
