I own a Dell M993c 19" flat screen crt monitor. The recommended resolution setting is 1280x1024 and a frequency of 75hz. I hold it set to the recommended specs with no problem. Now months down the smudge out of nowhere i turn on my computer and the screen is partially gone and offset to the gone. I have to turn the horizontal setting from 45 (center) to 100 (max to the right and almost center). Does anyone know what could've happend? This is the first time this have every happend. My system is home made but hasn't given me trouble yet. It is a 2.4ghz amd athlon xp, 2gig ddr pc3200 400mhz, 200gig maxtor hdd, video card is a 256mb NVIDIA GeForce 6200 and adjectives my drivers are current. I even double checked that the drivers where correct and current for the monitor and video card. Other than crack the monitor and altering it that way, is in that any other solution known that could cure my situation? (it said to be detailed, lol)
Answer:
sounds close to something inside the monitor broke, like a spring or retainer for the gun positioning ... if its still underneath warranty, send it posterior to dell for service, or call them to see what it will cost you to own it repaired
