Hi
My mum have a bought a new PC and monitor, from seperate suppliers. However she cannot carry teh Dell monitor to work vis the VGA cable or the other one - does anyone know why this would be the case and what we can do to achieve her back playing her games.
Her feeble monitor does also not work on the new PC, but how is she supposed to conveyance settings (if thats whats required) if she can't see what she's doing?
Any suggestions appreciated.
Answer:
When you turn on the computer does the monitor come on at all? You should see a "Splash" eyeshade or the CMOS Description Box when you turn it on. If it does and then go blank then nearby is a problem with the video settings or driver. You can boot into Safe Mode (By pressing F8 when you turn it on) and remove the driver for the video card and consequently reboot and let it autodetect and install it. If you never see anything on the monitor, even when you turn it on, here might be a problem with the video card. Plug the monitor into a set working computer to make sure the monitor works - you could even use a laptop. If it is prearranged that the monitor works then you know that it is the computer and can proceed from near. Hope this helps...
